The campus is currently experiencing an unplanned cable TV system outage. Technicians are currently working to replace failed parts. We hope to have this problem corrected by 5:00 this evening and regret any inconvenience this outage may cause.



Colleague to be Unavailable Weekend of September 1

Colleague will be unavailable between 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1 and 8:00 a.m. on Monday, September 3. (ScotWeb will also be unavailable.) During this period IT will be working to copy large amounts of data from the legacy administrative software system to Colleague. This process is a critical part of the implementation of Colleague Advancement–the Datatel module dedicated to the Development and Alumni Affairs Offices. Print Server Upgrades Morning of 08/21

Routine hardware and software maintenance is typically carried out between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Tuesday mornings. On Tuesday, August 21, IT will upgrade the operating systems of our print servers during this window. These upgrades are intended to improve the stability of print services. Printing and copying services may be briefly disrupted during the upgrades. Many Services to be Unavailable Tuesday Morning, June 26

On Tuesday, June 26th, significant system maintenance will occur during the regularly scheduled weekly maintenance window (6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.). IT will be adding disk space, updating the storage area network, replacing network equipment, and patching critical systems. Many applications will be unavailable during this period. These include Colleague (including ScotWeb and Wintegrate) and Novell file services.

We regret any inconvenience this service outage may cause, and look forward to providing the enhanced services that these activities will make possible.



Colleague Down Time Through July

The Development Office and the Office of Information Technology are hard at work on the implementation of Colleague Advancement. One of the critical processes this implementation entails is the transfer of data from the legacy software system to Colleague Advancement. Users cannot interact with Colleague during data transfer. In an effort to minimize the impact upon the user community, the data transfers will be conducted on weekends. Because there is so much data that must be processed, the transfers will be conducted over multiple weekends. The tentative schedule appears below. Colleague (Datatel) will be completely unavailable during these intervals. ScotWeb and Wintegrate will also be unavailable. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. Colleague will be unavailable between noon on Friday, June 15 and 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18. (ScotWeb will also be unavailable.) During this period IT will be working to copy large amounts of data from the legacy administrative software system to Colleague. This is in preparation for the new alumni/development application slated to go live on July 1. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.



Notice: IT Service Outage.

On Wednesday May 16th electric service to the campus will be shut off at 5:30PM with service returning approximately 9:30PM. To allow for an orderly shutdown IT will begin taking services offline at 4:15PM. Services will be brought down in the following order at the approximate times listed:

· 4:15PM Legacy System – Reflection, and Insight

· 4:30PM ERP System – Datatel Client, Scotweb, Safari, FRX, ProSystem FX, QuickBooks, TMA, ADP and Wintegrate.

· 4:40PM Email System – GroupWise Client, Scotmail, Alumni Mail and POP and IMAP accounts.

· 4:50PM POS and Access Servers – Best, CBord, FoodPro, Booklog, and Odyssey

· 5:00PM File Servers – Facultyserv, Staffserv, Studentserv, COWVideoserv, and COWServer

· 5:10PM Single purpose servers – MaxTix, Woodle, Blogs, MDID, WIKI’s, podcast, Pharos printing, RADIUS, WebServer, Pages Server, BlackBerry Server, FileMaker Pro, Key server, DNS, VPN, DHCP servers.

· 5:10PM Internet Access

After electrical service is restored, IT staff will be onsite to restore IT services. Services will return in the reverse order they were brought down.

IT recommends that all users logout of all applications and shut down all desktop computers, printers, fax machines and copy machines Wednesday as close to 4:30PM as possible to avoid issues related to improper shutdown.

This service outage will not affect phone or voicemail service.
